10 Health + Fitness Habits I Live By

 

 

  1. You probably hear this all the time… But I try to drink as much water as possible! Water is usually the only thing I drink aside from my morning coffee and occasional lemonade. Strictly no pop for me!
  2. Include protein in every. single. meal. I don’t feel full if I don’t incorporate some sort of protein in my meals!
  3. Get your recommended amount of sleep. Honestly not everyone needs 8 hours of sleep each night. Some people can run great on only 5-6. I dont NEED to sleep but I can notice a huge different in my mental and physical performance.
  4. Workout 3-4 times a week. That really isn’t that much of a commitment. I try to live a healthy lifestyle in general and workout every so often!
  5. Take time each day to do something you LOVE. This is for mental sanity. For instance, I love going on walks, I like social media (such as blogging now), I love enjoying my morning coffee, I love talking to my mom on the phone! It can be anything!
  6. This is not recommended by many of the fitness enthusiast and I am not claiming to know everything BUT I prefer to weigh myself every other day. It was something I did a lot while pregnant because it was interesting to see how much I weighed while growing a baby. I guess I do it as a habit now, I like to know how my body is changing! It is important to not obsess much over the scale. I try to go by how I look in my clothes and how I feel about myself.
  7. Only buy healthy snacks. If you only have healthy options on hand then obviously you will only eat a healthy snack!! Simple!
  8. Indulge at least once a day in MODERATION.
  9. Fast Food = Hard Pass. I am a normal person and have to eat fast food BUT I try to cook at home as much as possible. If I do go out to eat I try to get the healthiest option. For instance getting my burger protein style at Freddy’s and sharing fries with Derek!
  10. DON’T SWEAT THE SMALL STUFF. Lately I have been trying to think about the greater picture. Now that I have a son it is so much easier to keep things in perspective which is odd! I felt like before I would care about so many irrelevant things that would not effect me in the long run.
