I am definitely a dessert type of gal which can be difficult when trying to maintain a healthy lifestyle. I have gone to EXTREME measures to alter delicious desserts into a healthy alternative and I have tried just about every one out there! One dessert that I really enjoy, especially in the fall is Apple Nachos! They are SO easy and so cheap to make.
1 Gala apple (or apple of your choice)
1/4 cup of peanut butter… or more 😉 I like the all natural peanut butters
1/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips for melting/drizzle
1/4 cup chocolate chips as a topping
Any other topping that you desire
Slice apple up and arrange on plate
Drizzle melted peanut butter and semi-sweet chocolate chips on apple
Sprinkle chocolate chips over the top
Serve Immediately OR I have left my plate in the fridge for a few days and it was still good!
It is that easy! These are great for curbing my sweet tooth but still staying on track. Hey!…They do say an apple a day 😉
I have also tried this recipe with PB2 which is the powder peanut butter and a lot less calories and it still works great! I use dark chocolate chips as well.
