I can hardly believe its been a full year since the best thing in my life came into this world. My baby boy is one year old!! His birthday fell on a Tuesday and thankfully we spent the day as a family and treated Ryker to all his favorite things – delicious food, a new big toy, and Moana on repeat!
On Saturday we threw him a small get together with our friends and family. While the guest list was small and intimate the party was quite the opposite. I wanted to transform our home into Pinterest worthy Star Wars amazingness. I’ll give you a run down on all the details that made Ryker’s party so wonderful! But first, let’s take a trip down memory lane…. I linked a video that we made to play at Ryker’s party if you want to watch!
My friend has a small bussiness called Sugar and Shake Cupcakes, she made these wonderful Wookie Cupcakes for us!!
We ordered a dozen sugar cookies from Eileens Colossal Cookies here in Lawrence and our cake is from Dillions.
Ryker’s smash cake was made by yours truly. 🙂 Here is the recipe in case you want a healthy cake for your little one, or yourself 😉 FYI- the cake is pretty dense, similar to banana bread!
My mom printed off all the labels on card stock and we taped them to sticks, k-cups, or stuck it in the food! We also ordered some fun balloons, metallic streamers, and banners as well!
Derek and I contemplated dressing up but we wanted to keep it casual while still giving a star wars feel. I wore this super cheap one shoulder top from boohoo, I couldn’t find the shirt anymore so I linked some similar ones below. I also wore these awesome jeans from forever 21 that are suppose to “shape your butt.” Derek wore this shirt from Amazon that says “I Am Your Father” which I thought was pretty clever.
